Weekend Travel Essentials with Victorinox

Autumn has arrived, and I have no reservations in admitting I am one of those people who even during the height of summer is longing to be in cosy knits, sitting by the fire tucking into homemade pasta and ragu amidst an unnecessary amount of scented candles. With this comes my ultimate enthusiasm; travelling to colder climates and entertaining, bringing everyone together over good food and good wine.

In homage to this ritual I’ve teamed up with Victorinox to celebrate their Swiss Modern Collection to aid cooking preparation for the festivities ahead and share with you the ultimate travel gear which quite frankly, I could no longer be without.

Victorinox epitomises the effortlessly ‘scandi-chic’ yet practical design that every hostess requires; equipment that not only does the job well but looks sleek in the process.

Every blade is formed of wear-resistant stainless steel to enable effortless cutting and is combined with a richly grained, unique handle in warm European walnut wood. Ergonomically honed for ultimate comfort, the result us a contemporary update of the most important kitchen tool.

Preparing a comforting and Autumnal dish requires top-notch quality tools that stand up to the test and Viktorinox’s Swiss Modern knife collection and Signature range of accessories not only tick all the boxes for my kitchen with their minimalist and sleek design but also enables a hostess with the mostest to prepare the most flavoursome feast with ease such as my pici cacio e pepe with grated rosemary cured yolk. With my fiancé now taking the film industry by storm I find myself with a valid excuse to travel to wherever he may be for a long weekend, topping up on food inspiration from my travels and a camera full of enviable eastern European architecture. Travelling light means travelling sensibly; I for one am the sort of person that doesn’t like to put my luggage into the hold, and so with a staple wardrobe I will pack everything into a carry-on case.

The Victorinox Lexicon Hardside Global Carry-On is the answer to all of my travelling and working on the go needs. A sturdy but sleek design with super-recessed wheels and haul handles to maximise carry-on dimensions means ultimate packing space. A practical interior pocket for a portable power pack connecting to the USB adapter means I need never worry about losing charge on the go or faffing about with charger packs in my handbag; simply pop the USB cable into the top of the suitcase and start charging.

Need to make a note quick or access your iPhone simcard? No problem, with the integrated multi-tool (pen, sim card replacement tool, and ID tag) the Lexicon Hardside Global Carry-On is perhaps a little bit genius.

Heading to the countryside for a staycation? The Lexicon Weekender offers  a roomy main compartment that’s precisely designed to hold all you’ll need for a comfortable time away, as well as large exterior pockets, one of which transforms into a sleeve for sliding over your wheeled luggage. Inside there are useful features like a water-resistant pocket for wet or dirty items, and a key fob attached to another zippered pocket. And should you and your bag ever end up at different destinations, we’ve included it in our Swiss Bag Tracking Program for free so that you can be swiftly reunited. Clever, right?

Not only do Victorinox excel with their kitchen and travel gear but they also have some gorgeous watches to boot, perfect for any traveller who needs to squeeze in those extra minutes in duty free before the gate closes.

Having always opted for oversized men’s watches I feel in love with the Alliance Chronograph (44 mm). The ultimate investment, this timeless watch is styled with a perfectly symmetrical dial featuring a trio of chronograph discs and a contrasting monochromatic metallic finish. It’s sharp, distinctive and you can count on it for the long haul; the quality is far superior to watches I’ve previously owned and look sharp.

From kitchen to travel essentials and everything in-between, Victorinox has just about everything a hostess and cook could ever desire and everything a frequent flyer needs. Elegant design meets precision with the new Swiss Modern design collection and the reliable and future-facing design of their luggage range. Between cooking and travelling, the two most frequent activities in my daily life, I know with Victorinox I’m covered for whatever the day brings my way.
